Rena and Baxter had been married for less than a month before she pushed him off the side of a cliff.....
Hum - we have been married about the same length of time - perhaps this is not the best book to read and definitely calls for some skirting around the plot when Jol comes upstairs and asks me if the book is any good......
Life Support by Robert Whitlow is a book I have been sent to review by Book Sneeze
Despite his spectacular fall Baxter survives - but only just. This forms the story of the book. He is in a coma and paralysed from the neck down. His wife wants to 'end his suffering' whilst his (wealthy) father does not. They both have ulterior motives.
Rena employs Alexis Lindale as her lawyer. Alexis has her own sub-plots going on which include falling for a piano playing handyman pastor at a local church and finding God (on the same evening).
Whilst I found this book if not gripping but definitely a page turner and the cause of several late nights I thought the potential dilemma for Alexis of fighting to help Rena win the case to turn off her husband's life support against her newly found religious beliefs were not just not explored but practically ignored.
With only 2 pages to go Baxter was still lying unconscious and the family members were still at logger-heads. It was only on the last page it was revealed that this is just the first book of two!
I now have to hunt down the sequel to find out what happens - which I guess means it was a good first book!
I got this book free from Book Sneeze in exchange for writing this review. If anyone would like this book let me know and I'll pass it on to you.
